It is with great sadness that I have to report that Ken Briggs passed away in the early hours of this morning at Heron Hill Care Home, Kendal. Many of you will remember playing golf with Ken and enjoying his company both on and off the course. He was one of the first members that I met when I joined the Club in 1997 and he always had a kind word for me and was great fun to chat with. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and our sympathy and condolences must go to Doreen and his two daughters and their families who between them looked after him so well over his last few years. The flag at Silverdale Golf Club will be lowered to half-mast as a mark of respect to a good friend and long-term member.
