The New President of The Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs
Dr. Jerry Martin, a longstanding member of SGC, has been elected President of the Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs for the year 2022-2023. The union oversees amateur golf at one hundred and thirty nine golf clubs throughout the county.
Jerry has been a director of the LUGC for nine years and during that time has visited most of the affiliated clubs as a course assessor.
Jerry will be the eighty third president in the union’s history of more than one hundred years and the first Silverdale member to hold the office.
The president’s role is mainly ambassadorial and Jerry wants to use his year as president to draw attention to the enormous amount of hard work done behind the scenes by club members and staff to keep amateur golf in Lancashire in a healthy state.
Silverdale Golf Club wishes Jerry well in what is certain to be a busy year.
